Strategic Planning:  Insight Led Strategic Planning Pilot Project

Living Sport


The brief:

To support Living Sport, the County Sports Partnership for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough in the delivery of an insight led strategic planning process as part of a pilot project with Sport England and the County Sports Partnership Network


The work:

Bavester Associates was appointed in February 2015 to support Living Sport engage in a pilot project to test a process of strategic planning based on customer insight and stakeholder feedback.  Working with a pre-defined framework developed by Sport England Bavester Associates undertook the following work to complete the assignment by June 2015:


Collation and consolidation of existing local insight against a supply, demand, system and context model to develop a picture of community ‘sport’ provision and demand in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough

Comparison of local participation trends with national trends

Development and delivery of 5 consultation workshops involving staff, stakeholders and trustees of Living Sport

Development of insight summaries for future use in the strategy development process and beyond

Mapping of available insight, research and data against the Sport England model

Development of key learning and recommendations for use by Sport England and the CSPN


The outcome:

Consolidated local insight including qualitative and quantitative data along with recommendations for future strategic priorities to support the development of the new strategic plan for the County Sports Partnership
