Project Delivery: Core Market Funding Bid Development
The Client: Living Sport, County Sport Partnership for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough (CSP)
The Brief: To prepare a funding bid for the Sport England Core Market Fund
The Work: Katie was appointed by Living Sport in 2017 to support the CSP, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Public Health team, Local Authority, Developer and Housing Association partners to develop a funding bid to the Sport England Core Market Fund. An initial Expression of interest (EOI) was developed and submitted outlining the core strategic argument and need for the ‘Active New Communities’ project. The project aims to support those moving to new communities to remain active during this life change. Katie undertook secondary and primary research, consulting with active groups in existing new communities in the county and gathered input from steering group members to inform the EOI development. Following a successful EOI submission Living Sport were invited to submit a full application to the fund. Katie supported the steering group in the preparation of the necessary documentation including the writing of the full application and development of supporting materials including a project logic model, project delivery plans and risk registers. Katie worked with Living Sport and the Steering Group throughout the process.
The Outcome: In January 2018 Living Sport were successfully awarded £500,000 to deliver the 4 year project. The project is one of 18 operating in the country.
