Project Management: Innovation Bridge
The Client: Central Bedfordshire Council
The Brief: To provide project management support on the Innovation Bridge project operated by Central Bedfordshire Council with European Regional Development Funds (ERDF)
The Work: Working as an Associate of Inspiring Partnerships (Judith Barker) Katie provided project management, stakeholder engagement and marketing and communications support for the Innovation Bridge, business innovation project led by Central Bedfordshire Council including delivery partners of Anglia Ruskin University, University of Bedfordshire and University of Suffolk. The project is designed to support small and medium sized businesses across three Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) areas to drive business growth and innovation through building links with university academics. Katie worked with Judith Barker (lead consultant) to provide maternity cover support. Katie and Judith worked with CBC Business and Regeneration team members and external partners during the contract including the Universities and Local Enterprise Partnerships. Activity undertaken by Katie as part of the contract included:
Refining the marketing and communications’ plan for year one of the programme to engage a range of target audiences and stakeholders including guidelines for use of social media as a key communication channel for the programme
Ensuring that all promotional materials including websites, press releases, leaflets, posters etc. were compliant with ERDF publicity guidelines and supporting delivery partners with queries on this
Drafting of press releases to meet the messaging needs of a range of project partners including central government
Coordination of a refreshed branding concept for the programme liaising with project team members, delivery partners and the third party design agency
Development of refreshed marketing collateral via the third party design agency including printed and digital items
Development of procurement documentation including the invitation to tender for a major telemarketing campaign to support the programme
Other general project management functions as required including attendance at project management meetings and provision of support to Judith Barker as lead consultant/project manager.
The Outcome: The successful commencement of the Innovation Bridge project in October 2016 with a refreshed branding concept.
